Before choosing a
pod packaging machine, define the product you want to make. These four questions will help you prepare a clearer enquiry and compare quotations on the same basis.
1、What will your pod contain and look like?
Prepare a reference photo or drawing, the target fill weight and the number of chambers. Describe the filling material and provide relevant technical information for review.
Film compatibility and machine suitability need to be checked for your intended formulation. A film being water-soluble does not, by itself, establish compatibility with the contents.
2、What output do you need for this product?
State your target in pods per hour and your planned operating hours.
Ask which pod design, film and operating conditions support the proposed output. Agree on how the configuration will be tested with your intended materials, including checks for sealing quality and fill consistency.
3、Which product formats will you need?
List the shapes, fill weights and chamber layouts you plan to produce.
Ask which changes require adjustments, different moulds or other equipment. Confirm the changeover requirements before ordering, rather than assuming one configuration will handle every format.
4、What does the quotation include?
Request an itemised scope covering the machine, moulds, filling equipment and any required auxiliary equipment.
Clarify installation, training, spare parts and testing arrangements. Ask for exclusions to be stated in writing, so you can compare quotations against the same requirements.
Your starting checklist
Before contacting a supplier, prepare:
• A pod photo or drawing
• Filling material information
• Target fill weight and chamber layout
• Required output and planned operating hours
• Planned product formats
• Film specifications, if already selected
Not every detail needs to be final at the first enquiry. Clearly mark what is decided and what still needs technical advice.
